Bề dày của vấu nên nhỏ hơn 0.75% bề dày đặt vấu, lưu ý khi bề dày vấu lớn thì dễ xuất hiện các vết lõm trên bề mặt vì ứng suất tập trung tăng.
Bán kính ngoài chuyển tiếp nên bằng 0.25% bề dày đặt vấu hay ít nhất cũng bằng 0.4 mm để giảm ứng suấ
