Vậy còn Nhựa là gì?  
Nhựa là những vật liệu có thể đúc được. Từ “nhựa” có nguốn gốc từ tiếng Hy Lạp-“plastikos”- có nghĩa là có thể đúc được.
Có 2 loại nhựa chính:
Nhựa chịu nhiệt : có tính chất giống sáp- chúng có thể được gia công lại nhiều lần dưới một nhiệt độ thích hợp.
Nhựa phản ứng nhiệt: có thể được đúc  hay làm cứng chỉ một lần duy nhất dưới những điều kiện đặc biệt.​Ngày nay,nhựa có thể tái sử dụng hay tái chế, đã dần trở nên thân thiết với cuộc sống con người. Từ những túi khí trong xe hơi cho đến các  dây thắt an toàn, ghế trẻ em, nón bảo hiểm, bàn chải đánh răng và áo phao,những vật dụng gia đình làm từ nhựa …. được thấy và mua bán phổ biến  khắp nơi trên thế giới.
Các loại giấy nhựa dùng gói đồ rất đa dạng và tiện lơi không chỉ đảm bảo sự an toàn và sạch sẽ cho thực phẩm và sức khỏe người tiêu dùng mà còn giúp nâng cao chất lượng cuộc sống của người dân.
