2. Chiến thắng trận đầu của Hải quân nhân dân Việt Nam vào ngày 5/8/1964 là minh chứng cho nghệ thuật đánh đuổi giặc ngoại xâm tài tình của quân và dân ta. Chính trận đánh này đã khích lệ to lớn cho quân và dân ta nói chung và lực lượng Hải quân nhân dân Việt Nam nói riêng trong công cuộc giải phóng Miền Nam thống nhất đất nước.
