Quần đảo Cát Bà - một quần thể gồm 366 đảo lớn nhỏ, trong đó lớn nhất đảo chính Cát Bà nằm ngoài khơi thành phố Hải Phòng và tỉnh Quảng Ninh, cách trung tâm thành phố Hải Phòng khoảng 30 km, cách thành phố Hạ Long khoảng 25 km. Về mặt hành chính, quần đảo thuộc huyện đảo Cát Hải, thành phố Hải Phòng. Nơi đây đã được UNESCO công nhận là khu dự trữ sinh quyển thế giới.

Cát Bà, còn gọi là đảo Ngọc, Là hòn đảo lớn nhất và tập cư rất đông dân cư trong hệ thống 1.969 quần đảo của Vịnh Hạ Long.
