Xét trên cả tầm nhìn trung và dài hạn, ngành công nghiệp phụ trợ đóng một vai trò quan trọng và là luận điểm cần thiết để xây dựng các giải pháp nâng cao năng lực cạnh tranh cho ngành công nghiệp Việt Nam. Phát triển công nghiệp phụ trợ hiện là một trong những chính sách ưu tiên hàng đầu của Chính phủ, được kỳ vọng sẽ làm thay đổi bộ mặt của ngành công nghiệp nước nhà. Việc nghiên cứu kinh nghiệm của các quốc gia đã thành công trong việc phát triển ngành công nghiệp phụ trợ sẽ giúp Việt Nam rút ra được những bài học quan trọng để tìm ra được bài toán phát triển cho ngành công nghiệp phụ trợ trong nước. Trong phạm vi bài nghiên cứu xin giới thiệu mô hình phát triển công nghiệp phụ trợ ở một số nước thành công điển hình.
