Ngôi nhà sàn của Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh được xây dựng bằng gỗ bình thường, thiết kế theo kiểu nhà sàn của đồng bào dân tộc ở Việt Bắc: nhà hai tầng, xung quanh có mành che, tầng dưới để thoáng. Trước nhà là một vườn hoa nhỏ, trồng nhiều loại hoa thơm. Phía ngoài là hàng rào dâm bụt gợi nhớ hình ảnh quê hương Nghệ An, nơi Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh sinh ra và lớn lên. Món quà là biểu hiện cho tình bạn, tình đồng chí thân thiết giữa hai nhà lãnh đạo cũng như tình đoàn kết chiến đấu của nhân dân hai nước Việt Nam- Cu Ba.
