Phần xây dựng trong Hang Quân Y khép kín, kết cấu bằng bê tông cốt thép, chiều dài nỗi giữa hai hang khoảng 200m, thiết kế gồm có cửa trước tiếp giáp phía Tây, cửa sau tiếp giáp phía Đông, khu vực giữa Hang thiết kế gồm có 3 tầng riêng biệt gồm 17 phòng lớn nhỏ, bãi chiếu phim và một số phòng chức năng.
Tầng 1: khu vực chính gồm 14 phòng chức năng.
Tầng 2: Khu vực chiếu phim và kiểm tra thể lực.
Tầng 3: Sảnh đón tiếp, phòng gác và phòng sĩ quan.
Hang Quân Y phản ánh quy mô xây dựng thời chiến của quân y viện lớn đầy đủ tiện nghi và diện tích chữa bệnh cho hàng trăm người.
Hiện nay toàn bộ cấu trúc bên trong của Hang Quân Y vẫn còn nguyên vẹn, toàn bộ cảnh quan bên ngoài vẫn còn hoang sơ hòa trong phong cảnh của vườn quốc gia Cát Bà. Đây là địa danh hấp dẫn du khách quốc tế trong các hành trình đến với đảo Cát Bà xinh đẹp
