Ban đầu miếu Bà Chúa Xứ Núi Sam được cất đơn sơ bằng tre lá, nằm trên vùng đất trũng phía tây bắc núi Sam, lưng quay về vách núi, chính điện nhìn ra con đường và cánh đồng làng.
