Hoa mai có nhiều loại như cây mai vàng, cây mai trắng, mai tứ quý,…. Nhưng nhiều nhất vẫn là cây mai vàng, vì chúng dễ trồng, dễ trăm sóc, hoa lại to và đẹp.

Muốn cho hoa Mai nở đúng vào dịp Tết thì việc bắt buộc phải làm là lặt lá Mai, chứ không phải là tuốt lá Mai như bạn đã nghe, vì nếu tuốt lá không khéo sẽ tuốt luôn cả những mầm hoa đang có ở nách lá.
