Với tổng quan như vậy, việc sản xuất các sản phẩm đường ăn kiêng stevia từ cây cỏ ngọt ở nước ta chưa được quan tâm nhiều, còn là một thị trường bỏ ngỏ đầy tiềm năng. Do đó Công ty DOMESCO quyết định thực hiện tiểu dự án: “Phát triển và sản xuất đường Stevia và các sản phẩm từ đường Stevia” để giải quyết các vấn đề cấp bách mà người tiêu dùng quan tâm. Tiểu dự án cũng là một trong những con đường giúp người nông dân có thêm nguồn sống, nguồn thu nhập tiến tới xoá đói giảm nghèo, nâng cao đời sống từ loại cây trồng khá mới nhưng đầy tiềm năng ở Việt Nam là cây cỏ ngọt.
