Bước tượng Chúa Cứu thế Cristo Redentor được khánh thành vào ngày 12/10/1931 và khi bức tượng được tròn 80 tuổi, tức năm 2010 đã trải qua một cuộc đại trùng tu, do nhiều vị trí bị sét đánh hỏng.
