Từ những lý do trên, IDI đã đặt hàng và tập đoàn Desmet – vương quốc Bỉ đã nghiên cứu chế tạo và chuyển giao thành công công nghệ tinh luyện mỡ cá tra hiện đại, đảm bảo cho ra những sản phẩm tốt nhất, để chiên xào hoặc ăn sống trong bữa ăn hàng ngày của mọi gia đình hay làm nguyên liệu cho ngành công nghiệp thực phẩm, dược phẩm.



Nhà máy tinh luyện mỡ cá tra của công ty IDI (tên gọi khác là Nhà máy tinh luyện dầu cá cao cấp Sao Mai) có công suất thiết kế là 200 tấn nguyên liệu/ngày.
