Cựu Tổng thống Bill Clinton mong muốn và hy vọng được trở lại Việt Nam vào năm tới nhân dịp 2 nước kỷ niệm tròn 20 năm bình thường hóa quan hệ.

Cũng trong ngày 18/7, tiếp cựu Tổng thống Hoa Kỳ Bill Clinton, Chủ tịch nước Trương Tấn Sang đánh giá cao Hoa Kỳ đã giảm đáng kể các rào cản thương mại giúp cho hàng hóa Việt Nam vào Mỹ dễ dàng hơn; đồng thời cho rằng, khả năng hấp thụ hàng hóa của thị trường hai bên còn lớn. Do vậy, hai bên cần nỗ lực đẩy mạnh thương mại song phương.

Chủ tịch hoan nghênh các công ty lớn của Hoa Kỳ có mặt tại Việt Nam trong đó có các doanh nghiệp dầu khí; khẳng định Việt Nam tạo điều kiện để các doanh nghiệp Hoa Kỳ đầu tư.
