Applicant for L/C: là người yêu cầu ngân hàng phục vụ mình phát hành một L/C, và có trách nhiệm pháp lý về việc trả tiền của ngân hàng cho người bán theo L/C này. Người xin mở L/C có thể là buyer, importer, opener, accountee.
