Nhiệt độ Nozzle của kênh dẫn nóng và nhiệt độ của khuôn chênh lệch rất nhiều, cho nên, sự giãn nở vì nhiệt phải được đưa vào trong thiết kế các tấm Manifold và Nozzle trong điều kiện nguội. Nếu tính toán giãn nở nhiệt không đúng thì hệ thống kênh dẫn nóng hoặc khuôn sẽ bị phá hủy hoặc gây ra sự rò rỉ.
Trong đó:
LD là chiều dài Nozzle (mm)
LF là chiều dài Nozzle lúc giãn nở (mm)
α là hệ số giãn nở nhiệt của vật liệu (1/°C)
TR là nhiệt độ bộ chia nhựa (°C)
TF là nhiệt độ khuôn (°C)
