Section Multicultural Tourism and Hospitality Field gives me the knowledge of theoretical concepts and basic definitions tourism, hospitality and culture. Besides, I also have the knowledge and experience from the actual job. I learned how to build experience for the customer, the elements needed to design the best service to customers. Through the group assignment, project and group work, I learned to work effectively groups, how to overcome barriers such as language or culture. Also in the study of culture, I learned how to use the basic cultural elements to communicate more effectively with foreigners as well as local People. On the practical knowledge, I have the basic knowledge for restaurants, dining table, catering; layout and hotel operators, the work of the receptionist in the hotel; Working in the kitchen and how to cook simple dishes. Listen to the stories and experiences of people who work in the industry, from which to draw experience for themselves. This knowledge is the foundation for the curriculum, help me to more clearly define what will be learned in the upcoming program.
By now, the learning process progressed very smoothly Dag. I found communication skills and develop my interaction through group work. The initial knowledge about customer service, I learned how to behave and treat with the customer. Since then, I realized the shortcomings of their skills in working time in Vietnam. That is communication, problem-Solved and manage skills. I expect to be further hone these skills in the near future to develop my professional skills.
In the program the first time, I have participated in some group work and group project with other members of the class. Most activities are working with groups of people with many different outdoor scenes, with members coming from many parts of the world. In the process of work, I had the opportunity to know more about the cultural characteristics and traditions of many countries such as Russia, Finland. The team members are working very actively and effectively. Interactive skills and my communication is improved in that time. In the Tutorial and group assignment, we focus again and figure out how to write general comments and decisions each segment as well as in the post. We divided into small standard and each team member will assume a standard, post and search-related sources that section. Then we gathered all general bug fixes and improved. In Pohtimolampi group work, we gathered to search for topics and give an opinion on the organization of the event. Opinion of everyone are heard and included in the content of the program. Then we assigned roles for each member of the group, from preparation of the shopping, preparing speeches and decorations. The team members are participating enthusiastically and seriously. From there we successfully held our first mini event. In Arctic group work, our job is to create an information package on a country, from which to learn about cultural values, communication styles, as well as customer service expectation. 4-person working group, and we made a presentation in 10 minutes. We therefore decided to focus back to work and ways of working. After looking for basic information about the country, we continue further analysis on the cultural values and find out why and what travelers desire in that country when deciding to travel to Section Finland.
