(đạt đỉnh điểm 147.27 USD/ thùng vào tháng 7) và giảm giá không phanh trong nửa cuối năm (kết
thúc năm, giá dầu hoả chỉ còn 40 USD/ thùng). Đây chính là nguyên nhân khiến giá cả các chủng
loại nguyên liệu nhựa biến động bất thường trong năm trước. Trong quý I năm 2008, giá các loại
hạt nhựa đã tăng trung bình khoảng từ 550 đến 650 USD/ tấn và ảnh hưởng xấu đến kế quả kinh
doanh của các doanh nghiệp ngành nhựa. Đối với Tân Tiến, lợi nhuận chỉ đạt 7,7 tỷ đồng, thấp
hơn các năm trước đó.
Sang năm 2009, giá dầu thô được duy trì ổn định tại mức tương đối thấp (dao động trong khoảng
từ 40 đến 55 USD/ thùng). Cùng với đó, giá nguyên vật liệu đầu vào đã giảm mạnh (giảm khoảng
50% so với mức đỉnh giữa năm 2008) do mặt bằng giá cả hàng hoá thế giới giảm xuống cùng với
diễn biến của cuộc khủng hoàng tài chính toàn cầu, kéo theo chi phí đầu vào và giá vốn hàng hoá
của công ty. Theo đó, lợi nhuận gộp của TTP tăng đột biến so với cùng kỳ năm trước.
