Ngày 6/6, tại Trường Tiểu học Yên Xá (xã Tân Triều, huyện Thanh Trì, Hà Nội), Sở Y tế Hà Nội đã tổ chức hưởng ứng Ngày ASEAN phòng chống sốt xuất huyết (15/6).

Thông qua sự kiện này, UBND TP Hà Nội kêu gọi sự chung tay của chính quyền các cấp, các ban, ngành, các tổ chức chính trị - xã hội và đặc biệt là mỗi người dân trong cộng đồng ý thức trách nhiệm, tự nguyện thực hiện các biện pháp phòng bệnh sốt xuất huyết ngay tại hộ gia đình, vì một thế giới không còn bệnh sốt xuất huyết.
Sốt xuất huyết là một trong những căn bệnh do muỗi truyền có tốc độ lây lan nhanh nhất thế giới và hiện nay chưa có thuốc điều trị đặc hiệu. Theo thống kê của tổ chức Y tế thế giới, mỗi năm ước tính có 50 đến 100 triệu người nhiễm và khoảng 24.000 ca tử vong do sốt xuất huyết. Hiện cách phòng bệnh chủ yếu vẫn là phun hóa chất diệt muỗi và diệt bọ gậy, lăng quăng.
Tại Việt Nam, hiện nay số ca mắc sốt xuất huyết ở khu vực miền Bắc và miền Nam đều tăng so với cùng kỳ năm 2014. Thống kê 5 tháng đầu năm, cả nước đã ghi nhận hơn 11.389 ca mắc, tại 41 tỉnh, thành phố trong đó có 10 trường hợp tử vong. Riêng các tỉnh miền Nam số ca mắc sốt xuất huyết tăng hơn 35%.
Đối với TP Hà Nội, hàng năm có hàng ngàn trường hợp mắc sốt xuất huyết. Đặc biệt, năm 2009 có 16.073 người mắc sốt xuất huyết, trong đó có 4 người tử vong 4. Từ đầu năm 2015 đến nay, Hà Nội có 83 ca mắc sốt xuất huyết Dengue, tăng 60% so với cùng kỳ 2014. Do vậy, TP Hà Nội luôn xác định công tác phòng, chống sốt xuất huyết luôn là nhiệm vụ trọng tâm trong công tác phòng chống dịch bệnh.
Để thể hiện quyết tâm của thành phố cùng với cả nước và các nước trong cộng đồng ASEAN nỗ lực phòng chống sốt xuất huyết, Ban chỉ đạo phòng chống dịch TP Hà Nội đề nghị chính quyền các quận, huyện, thị xã triển khai đồng bộ các biện pháp phòng chống dịch, trong đó tập trung quyết liệt vào việc diệt lăng quăng, bọ gậy; tổ chức các chiến dịch vệ sinh môi trường diệt bọ gậy, diệt muỗi trưởng thành; giám sát chặt chẽ các ổ dịch cũ, khu vực có nguy cơ cao để phát hiện sớm, xử lý dịch kịp thời không để dịch lan rộng; thực hiện tốt công tác cấp cứu, điều trị bệnh nhân hạn chế thấp nhất tử vong…
