Chỉ định PTCTC toàn phần ở phụ nữ trong độ tuổi sinh đẻ chiếm tỷ lệ cao trong phẫu thuật phụ khoa. Sau PTCTC toàn phần kèm phần phụ (PP) có thể dẫn đến mãn kinh (MK) sớm với những biểu hiện giống như MK tự nhiên. Tuy nhiên các biểu hiện của MK sau PTCTC lại đến đột ngột, khó chịu và nặng nề hơn so với MK tự nhiên do cơ thể thiếu sự thích nghi từ từ [36]
