Năm 2003, đưa 2 giống chè LDP1 và LDP2 vào trồng ở đội 11 và đội 12 thuộc Công ty chè Mỹ Lâm ( nay là Công ty cổ phần chè Mỹ Lâm) và đội 15 và đội 16 thuộc Công ty chè Sông Lô (nay là Công ty cổ phần chè Sông Lô), năng suất trung bình đạt 15 tấn/ha. Khả năng chống chịu bệnh khá nhất là đối với rầy xanh, tỉ lệ sơ gỗ ít. Về chất lượng chè được đánh giá ở mức trung bình khá.
