Hiện nay, Philippines xếp thứ 19 trong số các nước có FDI vào Việt Nam với tổng số vốn đăng ký là 400 triệu USD, trong đó chủ yếu là các công ty Manila Water, United Laboratories, Oishi, San Miguel… Giai đoạn từ 2010 - 2015, kim ngạch thương mại song phương giữa Việt Nam và Philippineses có lúc tăng, lúc giảm so với những năm trước đó. Cụ thể trong năm 2010, tổng kim ngạch xuất nhập khẩu giữa hai nước đạt 2,41 tỷ, năm 2011 giảm xuống còn 2,35 tỷ, năm 2012 tăng lên 2,83 tỷ USD, năm 2013 lại giảm xuống còn 2,64 tỷ USD, năm 2014 tăng trở lại lên mức 2,99 tỷ USD, năm 2015 giảm nhẹ xuống mức 2,93 tỷ USD, và 8 tháng đầu năm 2016 đạt 2,06 tỷ USD.
