Như đã biết, hiện nay internet là một phương tiện truyền thông phát triển nhanh và mạnh mẽ, nó đem những con người ở các quốc gia, lục địa khác nhau gần lại với nhau hơn. Đặc biệt trong thời kỳ hội nhập và phát triển, internet càng có vị trí quan trọng, giúp con người nắm bắt được mọi thông tin trên thế giới một cách nhanh nhất mà chỉ cần ngồi một chỗ. Nhưng bên cạnh những lợi ích đó, internet cũng mang lại tác hại không hề nhỏ vì nếu như con người quá lạm dụng, nó sẽ ảnh hưởng trực tiếp đến con người mà ta không thể lường trước được.
Khi sử dụng internet có hiệu quả, internet đem lại cho con người vô vàn lợi ích và kiến thức. Internet là một thư viện khổng lồ, cho phép chúng ta tìm kiếm và cung cấp thông tin về tất cả mọi thứ. Internet còn là một trường học mở cửa mọi lúc. Internet cũng góp phần nâng cao chất lượng quản lí, điều hành Nhà nước của Chính phủ. Đây là một sân chơi giải trí thú vị với các các kênh truyền hình, các tờ báo và tạp chí điện tử, game online. Ngoài ra, ta có thể trò chuyện với người thân, bạn bè… qua các mạng xã hội. Internet là kênh mua sắm hữu hiệu, không tốn thời gian. Vì những điều trên, mọi người và đặc biệt là giới trẻ chúng tôi sẽ được phát triển toàn diện hơn về mọi mặt như kiến thức chuyên môn, kỹ năng sống và sẽ trở thành một con người hội nhập với kiến thức nắm vững trong tay.
Bên cạnh những lợi ích thiết thực thì internet cũng mang lại cho con người nhiều phiền toái khi mặt trái của internet luôn tồn tại. Đầu tiên, nó giảm tương tác giữa người với người. Thứ hai, internet làm lãng phí thời gian và xao lãng mục tiêu thực của cá nhân, quá chú tâm vào internet dễ dàng làm người ta quên đi mục tiêu thực sự của cuộc sống. Thứ ba, làm tăng nguy cơ mắ nhiều bệnh như cận thị, béo phì, trầm cảm, mất ngủ… Sau tất cả, một điều dễ nhận thấy ở người quá lạm dụng internet là học hành sa sút, công việc không hiệu quả và dĩ nhiên họ sẽ tự bị xã hội đào thải ra khỏi cuộc sống vô cùng nhộn nhịp ngày nay.
Không chỉ trong hiện tại mà ngay cả tương lai, internet sẽ luôn là phương tiện giúp tôi và mọi người trong mọi lĩnh vực như có thể trò chuyện với bạn bè mọi lúc mặc dù ở cách xa nhau, giải quyết công việc một cách nhanh chóng, tìm kiếm tư liệu để phục vụ công việc và học tập, giải trí sau giờ làm việc hoặc học tập căng thẳng bằng những trò chơi, phim ảnh và nghe nhạc.. Từ đó, nâng cao chất lượng cuộc sống và học tập.
Nói tóm lại, Internet là một phương tiện kì diệu, hiện đại và lợi ích mà nó mang lại cho cuộc sống con người là rất lớn. Thế hệ trẻ chúng ta, những chủ nhân tương lai của đất nước được thừa hưởng thành tựu vĩ đại và kì diệu của công nghệ thông tin, đó là diễm phúc. Song nếu chúng ta không biết khai thác và sử dụng Internet đúng mục đích và phương pháp khoa học thì thật đáng tiếc, vì như thế là tự tạo ra rào cản vô hình cho sự tiến bộ, là tự san phẳng thế giới thực của cá nhân mỗi con người. Tuổi trẻ cần trang bị cho mình một trình độ hiểu biết nhất định, một bản lĩnh vững vàng để khai thác những thông tin vô cùng hữu ích từ Internet.
