11. Ngày 29/8/2016 Phó Thủ tướng Vũ Đức Đam đã tiếp Chủ tịch Nguyễn Xuân Thắng và một số thành viên Ban lãnh đạo LH. Phó Thủ tướng đã đánh giá cao những đóng góp và sáng kiến của VFUA đối với một số chương trình hoạt động mà VFUA đã thực hiện trong hai năm qua và sẽ thực hiện trong thời gian tới. Phó Thủ tướng đánh giá LH và cánh tay nối dài đắc lực và hiệu quả của công tác UNESCO của CP Việt Nam.
