Vì vậy, hội nhập của ngành Hải quan cũng là một xu thế tất yếu sẽ diễn ra.
Xu thế phát triển của Hải quan quốc tế ngày nay là ứng dụng Công nghệ thông tin vào hoạt động quản lý một cách có hiệu quả. Việc ứng dụng thủ tục hải quan điện tử là con đường phát triển của hầu hết các nước và là yêu cầu của Hải quan Việt Nam trong xu thế toàn cầu hóa.
Hơn hết, xuất khẩu thương mại là xu thế của thời đại, là một yếu tố tất yếu trong quá trình phát triển của nước ta sau này. Với vấn đề cấp thiết này, ngoài việc nổ lực của bản thân của các doanh nghiệp kết hợp với các cơ quan nhà nước thì cần có các giải pháp để loại hình kinh doanh này phát triển hết khả năng vốn có của nó. Cũng như quy trình thủ tục hải quan, tầm quan trọng rất lớn đối với đất nước ta, thế nên cần được đẩy mạnh, phía Hải quan cần có những biện pháp thích hợp để cải tiến quy trình, rút ngắn thời gian, chi phí, nguồn nhân lực…. một cách tối đa.
