Tại Việt Nam, mạng lưới các tổ chức đoàn thể, xã hội là thành viên của Mặt trận Tổ quốc Việt Nam các cấp cũng rất tích cực tham gia vào các hoạt động cứu trợ khẩn cấp (ví dụ như: Đoàn Thanh niên, HCTĐ, Hội phụ nữ, ….). Gần đây Chiến lược quốc gia về biến đổi khí hậu mà trọng tâm là giảm rủi ro thiên tai đã được phê duyệt.
