VBF 2015: Visa là rào cản lớn cho ngành du lịch Việt Nam

Đại diện nhóm Nhóm Công tác Du lịch thuộc Diễn đàn Doanh nghiệp Việt Nam 2015 (VBF 2015) than thở việc thu phí cấp thị thực (visa) là “thiển cận” và visa đang là “rào cản lớn nhất” của du lịch Việt Nam.
Tại Diễn đàn Doanh nghiệp Việt Nam tổ chức sáng 9-6 tại Hà Nội, ông Ken Atkinson, đại diện của Nhóm Công tác Du lịch, kể chuyện một cặp vợ chồng người châu Âu đi du lịch Đông Nam Á. Họ dự định đến Việt Nam theo lịch trình, song cuối cùng họ không đi vì phí visa quá cao. “Chi phí xin visa vào Việt Nam bằng chi phí họ ở lại hai đêm ở Bangkok, vì thế họ quyết định ở lại Thái Lan thay vì tiếp tục đi đến Việt Nam,” ông Atkinson nói.
Ông Atkinson cho biết, Nhóm Công tác Du lịch ủng hộ việc miễn thị thực cho các quốc gia châu Âu, Bắc Mỹ, Úc và New Zealand. Số lượng khách du lịch tới từ những quốc gia này hiện đang chiếm tới 1,6 triệu lượt mỗi năm.
Ông Atkinson cho rằng, việc miễn thị thực dẫn tới mức tăng trưởng khoảng 10% số lượng khách du lịch đến Việt Nam, đồng nghĩa với việc số lượng khách du lịch tới từ các quốc gia kể trên sẽ tăng khoảng 160.000 lượt.
