Theo điều 287 Công ước Luật biển củ

Theo điều 287 Công ước Luật biển của Liên Hợp Quốc năm 1982 thì vần đề tranh chấp này có thể đưa ra Tòa án Quốc tế về luật biển (thành lập theo phụ lục VI). Tòa án quốc tế (ICJ) tòa án trọng tài (thành lập theo phụ lục VII) và tòa án đặc biệt (Phụ lục VIII). Tuy nhiên những tranh chấp lãnh thổ của các quốc gia trên thế giới theo truyền thống đa phần đều được đưa ra Toàn án công lý quốc tê (ICJ)(17), thẩm quyền của Tòa án công lý Quốc tế rộng hơn rất nhiều so với thẩm quyền của Tòa án quốc tế về Luật biển.

International Court of Justice (ICJ) the Arbitration Tribunal (established under annex VII) and the Special Court (annex VIII). However the dispute territory of the countries of the world traditionally most are giving courts international justice (ICJ) (17), the jurisdiction of the International Court of justice more broadly than the jurisdiction of the International Tribunal on the law of the sea.
