Theo Bộ Lao động-Thương binh-Xã hội, trong quý 3.2015, cả nước có 1,13 triệu người trong độ tuổi lao động thất nghiệp. Tính theo trình độ chuyên môn nghiệp vụ, có 645.100 người thất nghiệp không có chuyên môn nghiệp vụ (chiếm 57,2% tổng số người thất nghiệp); 33.600 người có trình độ sơ cấp nghề (chiếm 3%); 23.000 người có trình độ trung cấp nghề (chiếm 2%); 60.200 người có trình độ trung cấp chuyên nghiệp (chiếm 5,3%); 15.100 người có trình độ cao đẳng nghề (chiếm 1,3%).
Đặc biệt, có đến 117.300 người có trình độ cao đẳng chuyên nghiệp thất nghiệp (chiếm 10,4%, tăng 24.100 người so với quý 2) và 225.500 người có trình độ đại học trở lên thất nghiệp (chiếm 20%, tăng 26.100 người so với quý 2).
