Kỳ họp lần thứ 34 Uỷ ban di sản thế giới của UNESCO họp tại Brasilia, thủ đô của Brasil, đã thông qua Nghị quyết công nhận khu Trung tâm Hoàng thành Thăng Long - Hà Nội là Di sản văn hóa thế giới.
Nghị quyết này được Uỷ ban di sản thế giới của UNESCO thông qua vào lúc 20 giờ 30 ngày 31/7/2010 theo giờ địa phương, tức 6 giờ 30 ngày 1/8/2010 theo giờ Việt Nam.
Vào năm này tại Hà Nội đã diễn ra lễ kỷ niệm 1000 năm Thăng Long - Hà Nội nhằm kỷ niệm tròn 1000 năm kể từ khi kinh đô Thăng Long chính thức là thủ đô Việt Nam (được đánh dấu bằng mốc son vua Lý Thái Tổ ban chiếu dời đô từ Hoa Lư về thành Đại La đổi tên thành Thăng Long, nay là Hà Nội)

Tối ngày 16 tháng 3 năm 2015, Thủ tướng Nguyễn Tấn Dũng và phu nhân, cùng đoàn đại biểu Việt Nam có mặt tại thành phố Sydney, bắt đầu chuyến thăm chính thức Australia theo lời mời của Thủ tướng Tony Abbott. Trong chuyến thăm này Thủ tướng đã tới thăm thành phố Sydney và thủ đô Canberra. Chuyến thăm lần này của Thủ tướng Nguyễn Tấn Dũng mang tính cụ thể, thực chất, phù hợp với bản chất chiến lược ngày càng gia tăng của quan hệ giữa Việt Nam và Úc. Điều ấy tạo khuôn khổ và nền tảng cho những hoạt động hợp tác lâu dài sẽ không ngừng mở rộng trong tương lai. Chuyến thăm diễn ra vào một thời điểm quan trọng trong mối quan hệ song phương và các chuyển biến sâu rộng về chính trị - an ninh – kinh tế trong khu vực Châu Á – Thái Bình Dương.
- Khoảng cách địa lý giữa Việt Nam với Australia đang được rút ngắn lại không chỉ nhờ việc mở thêm các đường bay mới. Những chuyển động sâu sắc về địa - chính trị và kinh tế tại Châu Á – Thái Bình Dương đã tạo động lực cho quan hệ giữa hai nước và Việt Nam trở nên gần gũi hơn thiết thực và hiệu quả hơn, khi hai nước cùng chia sẻ nhiều lợi ích tương đồng, xây dựng môi trường hòa bình, ổn định và phát triển thịnh vượng giữa các quốc gia trong khu vực. Điều này đã được Thủ tướng Chính phủ Việt Nam nêu bật trong bài phát biểu trước các nhà nghiên cứu của Australia tại Viện Lowy, trụ sở đặt tại Sydney, ngày 17 tháng 3: “ Chúng tôi mong muốn hợp tác chặt chẽ cùng Australia và các nước đối tác để xây dựng một châu Á phát triển năng động, liên kết sâu sắc, trong một môi trường hòa bình, an ninh, ổn đinh, hợp tác cùng phát triển, cùng thịnh vượng”.
- Tinh thần hiểu biết lẫn nhau còn thể hiện trong các cuộc hội đàm cũng như tại các văn kiện chính thức ký kết trong chuyến thăm đều nhấn mạnh tầm quan trọng của việc duy trì hòa bình ổn định tại khu vực, giải quyết các tranh chấp trên biển, phù hợp với Luật pháp quốc tế, bao gồm Công ước Liên Hợp Quốc về Luật Biển 1982.
- Việt Nam và Australia đã ký kết hoặc tái khẳng định các bản ghi nhớ về hợp tác quốc phòng, thúc đẩy Đối thoại Quốc phòng và Đối thoại Chiến lược - Quốc phòng. Quân đội Việt Nam sẽ tham gia huấn luyện và tập trận chung cùng lực lượng quốc phòng Australia…

2. Nhà hát Opera Sydney

3. Rạn san hô Great Barrier
Rạn san hô Great Barrier là hệ thống đá ngầm san hô lớn nhất thế giới, bao gồm khoảng 30.000 bãi đá ngầm riêng rẽ và 900 hòn đảo kéo dài khoảng 2.600 km ở vùng biển ngoài khơi Queenlands. Cầu Mỹ Thuận là cây cầu quan trọng trong trục quốc lộ 1A về các tỉnh miền Tây Nam Bộ. Trước khi cầu được khánh thành, từ những năm 1935, người dân hai tỉnh Vĩnh Long và Tiền Giang phải qua lại bằng phà. Việc lưu thông qua phà vừa mất thời gian vừa không đảm bảo an toàn vào những lúc cao trào dễ xảy ra ùn tắc.
Cầu Mỹ Thuận hoàn thành có tác dụng nối liền tuyến giao thông đường bộ từ thành phố Hồ Chí Minh đến Vĩnh Long, phá bỏ thế cô lập của Vĩnh Long, tạo điều kiện cho tỉnh này phát triển. Mới đây, Việt Nam cũng đã thông xe đường cao tốc thành phố Hồ Chí Minh – Trung Lương và cho khởi công tuyến đường cao tốc Trung Lương - Mỹ Thuận. Tuyến đường này hoàn thành hứa hẹn sẽ mang nhiều thay đổi đột phá cho các tỉnh miền Tây.
