Sáng 16/1 Sở công nghiệp TP HCM họp đúc kết kinh nghiệm sản xuất kinh doanh và định hướng phát triển công nghiệp thành phố năm 2001.
Trong năm qua công nghiệp thành phố đạt mức tăng trưởng cao 15,5% là năm đạt mức cao nhất trong vòng 5 năm qua . Trong đó , khu vực sản xuất nội địa tăng cao hơn khu vực công nghiệp có vốn đầu tư nước ngoài .
Những yếu tố thúc đẩy sự tăng trưởng đó là hiệu quả đầu tư công nghệ mới , mở rộng quy mô sản xuất ( ước tính tổng vốn đầu tư mới lên đến 229 tỷ đồng và 94,2 triệu USD ) , tích cực khai thác thị trường , tăng sức cạnh tranh sản phẩm . Luật doanh nghiệp ra đời tạo thêm động lúc tăng trưởng với hàng ngàn cơ sở mới được thành lập , tăng 15% so với năm 1999
