1. Tính cấp thiết của đề tài.
Trong xu thế toàn cầu hoá nền kinh tế thế giới thì việc một quốc gia hội nhập vào nền kinh tế toàn cầu sẽ như thế nào cơ bản phụ thuộc vào khả năng cạnh tranh của các doanh nghiệp sở tại. Khả năng cạnh tranh là nguồn năng lực thiết yếu để doanh nghiệp tiếp tục vững bước trên con đường hội nhập kinh tế. Mặt khác, những chỉ tiêu đánh giá khả năng cạnh tranh của doanh nghiệp như: Vốn, trình độ kỹ thuật, công nghệ, trình độ quản lý, kỹ năng cạnh tranh, bộ máy tổ chức sản xuất, lợi nhuận. Vốn là nhu cầu tất yếu trong các hoạt động sản xuất kinh doanh và bất cứ lĩnh vực sản xuất nào. Bất cứ doanh nghiệp nào cũng phải có lượng vốn nhất định, đó là tiền đề cần thiết. trong nền kinh tế thị trường hiện nay thì nhu cầu vốn đối với các doanh nghiệp càng trở nên quan trọng và cấp thiết.
Với lực lượng đông đảo các doanh nghiệp xây dựng và hàng vạn kiến trúc sư, kỹ sư, các cán bộ quản lý trên cả nước, lĩnh vực xây dựng đang hoạt động hết sức năng động và cạnh tranh trong lĩnh vực xây dựng ngày càng diễn ra gay gắt. Tuy nhiên, cùng với sự phát triển nhanh về số lượng vẫn còn nhiều vấn đề nổi cộm về chất lượng sản phẩm, hiệu quả sử dụng các nguồn lực còn thấp, khả năng cạnh tranh với các công ty nước ngoài còn thấp, năng lực của các doanh nghiệp xây dựng còn nhiều hạn chế. Trong môi trường kinh doanh hiện nay, đối với các doanh nghiệp doanh nghiệp xây dựng thì một vấn đề mang tính thời sự là việc huy động vốn và sử dụng vốn. Đối tượng nghiên cứu của đề tài luận văn là vốn và hiệu quả sử dụng vốn.

Luận văn nghiên cứu thực trạng về vốn và hiệu quả sử dụng vốn của công ty cổ phần xây dựng VRO
4. Mục tiêu nghiên cứu:

- Phân tích đánh giá thực trạng hiệu quả sử dụng vốn của công ty cổ phần xây dựng VRO năm 2012 – 2013 nhằm rút ra những nguyên nhân cơ bản làm hiệu quả sử dụng vốn của công ty chưa cao.
- Đề xuất một số giải pháp nâng cao hiệu quả sử dụng vốn của công ty cổ phần xây dựng VRO
5. Phương pháp nghiên cứu:
Để hoàn thành mục tiêu nghiên cứu của đề tài trong luận văn sử dụng các phương pháp so sánh đối chiếu, phương pháp phân tích tổng hợp, phương pháp thống kê, phương pháp tiếp cận hệ thống...

Luận văn được kết cấu thành 3 chương.
Chương 1: Những lý luận chung về vốn và hiệu quả sử dụng vốn trong doanh nghiệp xây dựng.
Chương 2: Thực trạng vốn và hiệu quả sử dụng vốn của công ty cổ phần xây dựng VRO năm 2013.
Chương 3: Một số giải pháp nâng cao hiệu quả sử dụng vốn của công ty cổ phần xây dựng VRO.
