Khoa Kinh tế được thành lập vào năm 2007, đào tạo các hệ đại học, cao đẳng và trung cấp chuyên nghiệp chính quy; hệ đại học liên thông; hệ đại học văn bằng hai; hệ đại học vừa làm vừa học với số lượng sinh viên hàng năm xấp xỉ 4,500 sinh viên đến từ khắp các tỉnh và thành phố trong phạm vi cả nước. Với phương châm: “Học thật, dạy thật, thi thật, kết quả thật và trưởng thành thật”, các chương trình đào tạo của khoa luôn phù hợp với chủ trương đào tạo theo nhu cầu xã hội mà Bộ Giáo dục và Đào tạo đã đề ra như:
