Nhạc sĩ Cao Văn Lầu sinh năm 1892 và mất năm 1976 , là người sáng tác bản “Dạ cổ hoài lang” nổi tiếng . Di tích lịch sử - văn hóa khu lưu niệm nhạc sĩ Cao Văn Lầu được xây dựng tại phường 2, thị xã Bạc Liêu . Khu di tích này vừa được trùng tu tôn tạo mở rộng trong một khuôn viên có diện tích 2772 m với tổng kinh phí hơn 6,3 tỉ đồng . Từ trung tâm thị xã Bạc Liêu qua cầu Kim Sơn (hay còn gọi là Cầu Quay), đi trên con đường mang tên Cao Văn Lầu thêm khoảng 1km lại rẽ phải, đi vào khoảng 300m là đến khu di tích.
Di tích được Ủy ban Nhân dân tỉnh Bạc Liêu xếp hạng là Di tích lịch sử cấp tỉnh năm 1997.
