Cứ đến ngày rằm và 30 âm lịch hằng tháng, tại quán cà phê Tuyết Hoa (số 62 đường B23, Khu dân cư 91B, khu vực 6, phường An Khánh, quận Ninh Kiều) có một nhóm phụ nữ tổ chức phát cơm chay từ thiện cho những người nghèo, người bán hàng rong… vào buổi sáng. Nghĩa cử này đã được thực hiện hơn 1 năm qua và ngày càng được nhiều người biết đến. Hiện nay, tổ nấu cơm từ thiện phát mỗi lần từ 200 suất cơm trở lên vì thế mọi người cùng chung tay làm đồ ăn phuc vụ cho những người nghèo. Chị Phạm Nguyễn Bạch Hoa, ngoài tích cực đóng góp kinh phí, cho mượn địa điểm phát cơm còn tặng nước uống miễn phí cho những trường hợp đặc biệt như: người già, người bán vé số, tàn tật…Các chị em trong tổ nấu cơm từ thiện còn sẵn lòng giúp đỡ những người nghèo đau ốm hoặc qua đời. Ngoài ra, chị Trần Phương Xuyến và các chị em trong tổ còn vận động được nhiều người quyên góp tập vở, quần áo cũ rồi tổ chức đến tặng học sinh nghèo hoặc đưa vào chùa để các sư tặng người nghèo. Các chị tuy người bán bánh mì, người bán tạp hóa, cà phê, người về hưu… thu nhập không nhiều nhưng có chung một tấm lòng vì người nghèo, người có hoàn cảnh khó khăn. Hy vọng rằng tấm lòng ấy sẽ lan tỏa đến nhiều người, để vòng tay cộng đồng sẽ ngày càng rộng mở hơn, cuộc sống của người nghèo sẽ tốt đẹp hơn.
