Trong thời gian qua, hợp tác phát triển du lịch giữa hai tỉnh Quảng Ninh và Udonthani vẫn còn hạn chế, cụ thể: việc phối hợp xúc tiến du lịch và liên kết chặt chẽ giữa các Hiệp hội du lịch, các doanh nghiệp du lịch ba bên chưa được triển khai sâu rộng; chưa xây dựng được logo tam giác di sản và tuyến du lịch di sản kết nối giữa ba tỉnh; chưa thiết lập được sự hợp tác chặt chẽ giữa các cơ quan truyền thông của hai bên (báo, đài) để đưa thông tin quảng bá về du lịch cũng như các tiềm năng thế mạnh của ba bên đến với người dân ba nước.
