Ngành Thiết kế nội thất thuộc khoa MTCN thành lập năm 2003 với mục tiêu đào tạo và cung cấp nguồn nhân lực về thiết kế có kiến thức và kỹ năng, có thể tham gia vào công cuộc xây dựng và phát triển kinh tế – xã hội của đất nước trong thời đại mới.

Chương trình đào tạo của ngành Thiết kế nội thất được xây dựng dựa trên tham khảo cấu trúc khung chương trình đào tạo ngành tương đương từ các trường đại học thuộc Top 100 trên thế giới như: Đại học Cincinnati, Đại học Central Oklahoma… Đồng thời chương trình được hoàn thiện theo đúng qui trình đánh giá của trường Đại học Tôn Đức Thắng, có sự tham khảo ý kiến phản hồi của người sử dụng lao động, của cựu sinh viên và ý kiến đóng góp của các chuyên gia có uy tín tại Việt Nam và thế giới.

Chương trình cung cấp cho sinh viên những kiến thức cơ bản về các nguyên lý thiết kế, rèn luyện phương pháp và tư duy thiết kế thông qua các đồ án chuyên ngành đa dạng. Chương trình còn cung cấp cho sinh viên các kiến thức về vật liệu,và cách ứng dụng vật liệu vào thực tế như: Furniture Design (thiết kế đồ nội thất), Interior Construction & Materials (Xây dựng & Vật liệu trang trí nội thất).Ngoài ra Sinh viên có thể tự chọn các môn học liên ngành của khoa MTCN mà mình yêu thích như:Light Fixture Design (Industrial Design),Prototyping (Industrial Design),Fashion Merchandising (Fashion Design),Fashion Event Design (Fashion Design),Photography (Graphic Design).

In addition students can choose the subjects in the Faculty's interdisciplinary MTCN favorite as: Light Fixture Design (Industrial Design), Rapid Prototyping (Industrial Design), Fashion Merchandising (Fashion Design), Fashion Event Design (Fashion Design), Photography (Graphic Design).
