Du lịch từ lâu nay đã trở thành một mối quan tâm của các quốc gia trên thế giới.và đây cùng là một trong những ngành đóng góp một tỉ trọng lớn trong nền kinh tế của các quốc gia trên thế giới nói chung và của việt Nam nói riêng. Hiện nay do nhu cầu của khách rất đa dạng nên để đáp ứng được nhu cầu của ngưòi khách du lịch thì đã có rất nhiều loại hình du lịch được mở ra :như loại hình du lịch homestay, du lịch Mice, du lịch tìm hiều văn hoá, du lịch biển…Để có thể tìm hiểu rõ hơn về các loại du lịch này thì chúng ta phải có thời gian rất dài để nghiên cứu do vậy trọng đề tài này do thời gian và khả năng hạn chế nên tôi chỉ có thể nghiên cứu sơ qua về loại hình du lịch mà hiện nay đang được chúng ta tập truing phát triển đó là loại hình du lịch HOMESTAY

hiện nay khi mà nhu cầu du lịch của du khách ngày càng tăng thì để đáp ứng những nhu cầu đa dạng của du khách thì các loại hình du lịch cũng lần lượt ra đời .Trong các loại hình đó thì loại hình du lịch homestay là loại hình du lich đang nhận được rất nhiều sự quan tâm của các cơ quan quản lý, các công ty ,du khách mong tìm hiểu đất nước con người nơi mà họ đến.
Có thể nói du lịch sinh thái như là một hiện tượng và một xu thế phát triển đang ngày càng chiếm được sự quan tâm của mọi lứa tuổi, bởi vì đây là một loại hình du lịch có trách nhiệm, hỗ trợ cho các mục tiêu bảo tồn môi trường tự nhiên, các giá trị văn hóa bản địa, phát triển cộng đồng, đồng thời đem lại những lợi ích kinh tế góp phần tích cực vào sự phát triển du lịch nói riêng và phát triển kinh tế xã hội nói chung.
Trong quá trình phát triển chung của du lịch homestay trên thế giới, du lịch homestay ở Việt Nam tuy mới được quan tâm phát triển nhưng đã báo hiệu một triển vọng to lớn. Trong đó phải kể đến các địa phƣơng như Mai Châu (Hòa Bình), Ba Bể (Bắc Cạn), Huế, Hội An, Đồng bằng song Cửu Long. Tuy nhiên đây là loại hình du lịch còn khá mới lại cần thu hút sự tham gia của cộng đồng địa phương nên việc phát triển du lịch homestay vẫn chưa thực sự hiệu quả so với tiềm năng. Thể hiện rõ nhất ở số lượng khách và số hộ gia đình tham gia loại hình du lịch này vẫn còn khá ít. Vì vậy việc phân tích những thuận lợi và khó khăn trong việc phát triển loại hình du lịch homestay , từ đó đề ra những giải pháp nhằm khai thác hợp lý, hiệu quả loại hình du lịch homestay theo hướng bền vững là một nhiệm vụ cấp thiết. Do đó tôi đã lựa chọn đề tài này để tìm hiểu những thuận lợi và khó khăn trên cơ sở đó đề xuất một số giải pháp nhằm phát triển loại hình du lịch homestay theo hướng bền vững.
