Sửa lỗi là một việc rất quan trọng trong học tập nhưng sửa lỗi như thế nào cho đúng, cho hợp lý lại rất quan trọng. Khi học sinh làm sai, mắc lỗi trong lúc học, giáo viên sẽ ghi lại những lỗi mà học sinh thường xuyên mắc. Khi thực hành, giáo viên sẽ chỉ ra các lỗi cho học sinh và sửa cho chúng tới khi học sinh làm đúng thì thôi. Với những lỗi ít học sinh mắc phải hay những lỗi nhỏ, giáo viên có thể ghi ra giấy đưa cho học sinh cách hướng dẫn sửa những lỗi sai đó để học sinh tự sửa rồi sau khi tới lớp giáo viên sẽ kiểm tra lại. Việc sửa lỗi sai trong học tập rất quan trọng nhưng nếu có thể giúp học sinh tự nhận ra cái sai của bản thân sẽ là điều tốt nhất. Giáo viên không nên sửa lỗi ngay lập tức khi học sinh làm sai vì như vậy sẽ gây tâm lý lo sợ cho học sinh. Mắc lỗi sai là một điều tốt vì có sai học sinh sẽ nhớ lâu hơn kĩ hơn và sẽ biết cách làm thế nào để không mắc lại nữa. Tuy nhiên, với từng hoàn cảnh học tập mà giáo viên sẽ sửa lỗi sai ngay lúc đó hay để sau mới sửa. Ví dụ: nếu như đó là một tiết học về ngữ pháp, khi học sinh mắc lỗi thì giáo viên không nên sửa ngay mà để tới tiết thực hành rồi sửa. Nhưng nếu đó là tiết học luyện âm, luyện nói thì giáo viên cần sửa ngay lúc bấy giờ. Như vậy, sửa lỗi sai cần phải phù với hoàn cảnh điều kiện của tiết học và yêu cầu của giáo viên hay học sinh.
