Trước ngưỡng cửa hội nhập như vậy, bản thân tôi cần có tâm thế, có những sự chuẩn bị kỹ càng không chỉ hòa nhập, mà còn tận dụng các cơ hội về học bổng, việc làm ở các nước ASEAN

Việc gia nhập AEC sẽ giúp sinh viên có nhiều cơ hội mới. Bản thân tôi thấy rằng sẽ phải nỗ lực nhiều hơn trong việc học, nhất là tiếng Anh để có thể tìm cơ hội du học, làm việc ở những môi trường tốt. Dù vậy tôi thấy so với sinh viên nước ngoài, nhiều sinh viên trường có kiến thức tốt nhưng vẫn còn khá rụt rè trong giao tiếp, trình bày một vấn đề. Cá nhân tôi cũng tự thấy chưa thật sự chủ động trong các chương trình giao lưu, hội thảo quốc tế. Các bạn nước khác hoà nhập rất nhanh trong mọi tình huống. Thật ra không phải ai cũng nói tốt tiếng Anh tốt nhưng họ lại dạn dĩ hơn mình và thích nghi nhanh. Điều này khiến tôi phải suy nghĩ và cần phải học hỏi rất nhiều để hoàn thiện bản thân
Ngoại ngữ là chìa khóa để giành học bổng du học
Việc hội nhập ASEAN giúp các học sinh – sinh viên cả nước nói chung hay bản thân tôi nói riêng có thêm nhiều chương liên kết, cơ hội trao đổi sinh viên,… Qua đó, trong tương lai có thể dễ dàng du học, thực tập tại các nước ASEAN. Nhiều sinh viên nhận định việc nâng cao trình độ ngoại ngữ chính chính là chìa khóa để mở ra nhiều cơ hội trong quá trình hội nhập, trở thành công dân ASEAN. Tuy nhiên, Tôi nghĩ mình cần tìm hiểu nhiều hơn về cộng đồng ASEAN, về nền văn hóa giữa các nước ASEAN, nhất là cơ hội cho mỗi người cũng như những thách thức để có một tâm thế tốt nhất cho việc hội nhập. Mỗi bạn trẻ cần tích luỹ cho mình kỹ năng tốt, nhất là kỹ năng nghề nghiệp và kỹ năng giao tiếp. Bên cạnh tiếng Anh, cần học thêm các ngôn ngữ khác để có thễ cạnh tranh với các bạn trẻ đến từ các quốc gia khác”.
Với những bước tiến của nước ta trong khối ASEAN đem lại rất nhiều cơ hội cho mỗi công dân Việt Nam đặc biệt là thế hệ trẻ Để nắm bắt những cơ hội đó và trở thành công dân ASEAN, sinh viên trường cần trau dồi thêm các kỹ năng, kiến thức về văn hóa, xã hội của các quốc gia trong khu vực, nâng cao trình độ ngoại ngữ. Đồng thời, cần tự tin, chủ động tham gia các hoạt động liên kết, chương trình giao lưu, trao đổi sinh viên giữa các trường đại học trong khu vực và thế giới.
