Theo số liệu công bố ngày 30/12 của Cục Thống kê dân số Mỹ, đúng vào ngày đầu tiên của Năm mới 2016, dân số thế giới ước đoán sẽ lên tới 7.295.889.256 người, tăng 77.918.825 người so với ngày đầu tiên của năm 2015.

Trong khi đó, dân số Mỹ vào ngày 1/1/2016 cũng sẽ đạt hơn 322 triệu người, tăng thêm 0,77% kể từ đầu năm 2015.
