VietJetAir sử dụng phiên bản Airbus A320 từ tháng 12/2011. Chiếc máy bay này có thể chuyên chở 180 hành khách với tổng chiều cao 11 met, chiều dài gần 38 mét. Đây là mẫu máy bay có khoang hành khách rộng nhất (3, 95 mét) trong tất cả các loạt máy bay có sức chứa dưới 250 hành khách. Tốc độ bay trung bình của A320 là 905km/h và tầm bay khi đầy tải là 4800 km, phù hợp với 3 trục đường nội địa chính của Việt Nam là Hà Nội, Đà Nẵng, TP. HCM.
