Nhưng các công trình này chỉ dừng ở mức miêu tả đơn ngữ hoặc đối chiếu song ngữ về nghĩa cảm xúc ở khuôn khổ các pương tiện đơn lẻ, chưa có công trình nào nghiên cứu đối chiếu một cách hệ thống các loại hình phương tiện biểu đạt nghĩa các cảm xúc được thể hiện trong tiếng Anh và Việt. Công trình này được thực hiện để đáp ứng nhu cầu đó của thực tiễn.
