QĐND - Nước Mỹ trải qua năm 2014 với kỷ niệm khó quên về những trận chiến đảng phái quyết liệt trong nước và khó khăn trong quan hệ quốc tế. Thế nhưng, 2014 cũng là năm chứng kiến sự phục hồi ấn tượng của nền kinh tế Mỹ, sau những năm dài tụt dốc vì hậu khủng hoảng và bội chi cho các cuộc viễn chinh xa xôi...
Bắt đầu bằng những tín hiệu khả quan đầu năm về kinh tế, nhưng suốt 12 tháng trời của năm 2014, người dân Mỹ luôn phải chứng kiến những cuộc đấu đá quyền lực giữa hai đảng Dân chủ và Cộng hòa, dẫn tới sự bế tắc trong hầu hết các quyết sách. Bên cạnh đó, dù thực hiện được việc rút quân khỏi chiến trường I-rắc và Áp-ga-ni-xtan, song nước Mỹ lại phải đối mặt với chiến dịch chống lại nhóm vũ trang Nhà nước Hồi giáo tự xưng (IS) đang “làm mưa làm gió” ở I-rắc và Xy-ri mà chưa biết còn kéo dài bao lâu. Tiến trình hòa đàm Pa-le-xtin – I-xra-en không có bước tiến, thậm chí rơi vào bế tắc. Nước Mỹ cũng phải chi nhiều tiền của, nhân lực cho cuộc chiến chống đại dịch Ê-bô-la đã xâm nhập vào bên trong lãnh thổ, đồng thời ứng phó với những vấn đề nổi cộm ở châu Á-Thái Bình Dương... Và còn đó các cuộc khủng hoảng ở Xy-ri và U-crai-na, cho đến nay vẫn chưa được giải quyết…
Nhưng 2014 không phải là một năm “thất bát” với nước Mỹ!
Xét về mặt nào đó, 2014 là một năm thành công đối với nước Mỹ, ít nhất là xứ cờ hoa đã phần nào phục hồi được sức mạnh về kinh tế.
Còn nhớ, năm 2013 đã chứng kiến một sự thay đổi rõ rệt trong chính sách của nước Mỹ. Hầu như trong suốt năm 2013, phần lớn chương trình nghị sự của chính quyền Tổng thống Ô-ba-ma tập trung vào các vấn đề đối nội. Chính sách ấy tiếp tục được theo đuổi trong năm 2014, đặc biệt tập trung hơn nữa vào các biện pháp phục hồi kinh tế.
