- Hệ thống ngân hàng được ra đời từ rất sớm trong khi thị trường chứng khoán ra đời sau. Cụ thể là ở việt nam thị trường chứng khoán chính thức khai trương đi vào hoạt động vào năm 2000 với 2 loại cổ phiếu niêm yết.Từ năm 2000 đến nay,Mặc dù, thị trường chứng khoán ở VN ta đã có có những bước phát triển nhảy vọt nhưng thị trường giao dịch cổ phiếu còn nhiều biến động và hạn chế về tính thanh khoản, đặc biệt là khi thị trường có dấu hiệu suy giảm. Bên cạnh đó, hàng hóa niêm yết trên TTCK chưa đa dạng, chất lượng chưa cao, chưa đáp ứng nhu cầu đầu tư và phòng ngừa rủi ro của nhà đầu tư. Các dịch vụ tiện ích cho nhà đầu tư trên thị trường còn nghèo nàn .tính minh bạch của thị trường chưa đáp ứng nhu cầu của công chúng đầu tư.
