Tổng Công ty Phân bón và Hóa chất Dầu khí (tiền thân là Công ty Phân đạm và Hóa chất Dầu khí) là đơn vị thành viên của Tập đoàn Dầu khí Việt Nam, được thành lập theo Quyết định số 02/2003/QĐ-VPCP ngày 28/03/2013 của Bộ trưởng – Chủ nhiệm Văn phòng Chính phủ, bắt đầu đi vào hoạt động từ ngày 19/01/2004. Từ ngày 31/8/2007, Công ty Phân đạm và Hóa chất Dầu khí chính thức chuyển đổi trở thành Công ty Cổ phần Phân đạm và Hóa chất Dầu khí và vận hành theo mô hình công ty cổ phần. Ngày 05/11/2007 Công ty chính thức niêm yết 380.000.000 cổ phiếu trên thị trường chứng khoán, với mã chứng khoán DPM. Tại đại hội đồng cổ đông năm 2008 ngày 5/4/2008, Công ty Cổ phần Phân đạm và Hóa chất Dầu khí (Đạm Phú Mỹ- PVFCCo) đã thống nhất chuyển công ty này thành Tổng công ty hoạt động theo mô hình công ty mẹ - công ty con. Ngày 15/05/2008, Công ty Phân đạm và Hóa chất Dầu khí chính thức chuyển đổi thành Tổng Công ty Phân bón và Hóa chất Dầu khí – Công ty Cổ phần (Tên viết bằng Tiếng Anh là PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation và tên viết tắt là PVFCCo) theo Giấy chứng nhận đăng ký kinh doanh của Sở Kế hoạch và Đầu tư Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh cấp ngày 15/05/2008.

Vốn điều lệ: 3.800.000.000.000 đồng (Ba ngàn tám trăm tỉ đồng).

Nguồn nhân lực:

Hiện nay tổng số người lao động tại TCT là 1.558 người. Lực lượng lao động của công ty tương đối trẻ, đầy nhiệt huyết, quyết tâm cao, được đào tạo bài bản về vận hành và quản lý sản xuất nhà máy phân bón và hóa chất.

Ngoài việc ổn định và không ngừng cải tiến cơ cấu tổ chức, Tổng công ty luôn chú trọng công tác đào tạo chuyên môn và ngoại ngữ cho người lao động. Nâng cao đời sống văn hóa, tinh thần và cải thiện thu nhập cho người lao động luôn được TCT coi là vấn đề then chốt để phát triển nguồn nhân lực.

Qua quá trình đào tạo, phát triển, đội ngũ nhân lực của TCT đã đạt được những bước tiến rất đáng kể, tích lũy nhiều kinh nghiệm và phát huy năng lực sáng tạo. Với nguồn nhân lực này, tiềm năng nghiên cứu, phát triển đầu tư các dự án sản xuất, kinh doanh mới để để phát triển TCT là rất lớn và là yếu tố rất quan trọng.
