Muốn truyền thông hiệu quả cần kết hợp các hình thức, phương pháp truyền thông một cách hài hòa, hợp lý, thông tin truyền thông phải phản ánh trung thực, không thổi phồng, không làm sai lệnh thông tin, không thiên vị. Căn cứ vào nội dung cần truyền thông để lựa chọn đối tượng tiếp nhận thông tin truyền thông cũng như áp dụng hình thức truyền thông phù hợp gây hiệu ứng nhanh và mạnh nhất.
