Công ty Cổ phần Tập đoàn Intimex, tên gọi trước đây là Công ty Cổ phần XNK Intimex chính thức đi vào hoạt động từ ngày 01 tháng 07 năm 2006. Intimex Hochiminh được hình thành trên cơ sở cổ phần hóa Chi nhánh Công ty XNK Intimex tại TPHCM được thành lập năm 1995 và trực thuộc Bộ Công Thương. Sau 10 năm hoạt động dưới hình thức chi nhánh, mà sự khởi đầu chỉ có hai bàn tay trắng, không nhà, không tiền và đội ngũ chỉ vỏn vẹn 5 CBCNV, đến hết năm 2005, khi chuẩn bị chuyển sang công ty cổ phần, doanh thu của Intimex Hochiminh đạt trên 1.860 tỷ đồng, kim ngạch xuất nhập khẩu đạt 105 triệu USD, nộp ngân sách trên 30 tỷ đồng. Và từ sau khi cổ phần hóa với vốn điều lệ là 14,4 tỷ đồng, 91 CBCNV, 1 nhà máy chế biến tiêu sạch tại Bình Dương, văn phòng tại TPHCM và 3 chi nhánh, sau 9 năm Công ty đã có bước phát triển vượt bậc với tốc độ tăng trưởng bình quân từ 30-50%/năm. Từ ngày 1-7-2011, Công ty đi vào hoạt động với tên gọi mới: Công ty Cổ phần Tập đoàn Intimex (Intimex Group), phát triển theo định hướng “đa ngành, đa nghề, đa quốc gia”.
Đến nay, kim ngạch xuất nhập khẩu của Công ty đã đạt gần 1 tỷ USD/năm, doanh thu hàng năm đạt trên 32 nghìn tỷ đồng. Hệ thống mạng lưới hoạt động của Công ty đã trải dài từ Bắc đến Nam với 6 chi nhánh và Trung tâm Thương mại, 12 doanh nghiệp mà Công ty chiếm cổ phần chi phối từ 51% trở lên. Công ty đã xây dựng 9 nhà máy chế biến cà phê xuất khẩu chất lượng cao nằm ở các vùng trọng điểm sản xuất cà phê của Việt Nam với tổng công suất 540.000 tấn/năm, 1 nhà máy chế biến tiêu sạch xuất khẩu cùng 5 Trung tâm Thương mại tại Buôn Ma Thuột, Đắk Mil, Tây Ninh, Đà Nẵng và Hải Phòng.
TCông ty và các đơn vị thành viên trở thành đơn vị xuất khẩu cà phê hàng đầu Việt Nam với tổng lượng xuất khẩu trên 400.000 tấn/năm, chiếm 24% lượng xuất khẩu của cả nước. Intimex Group đứng thứ 3 về xuất khẩu hồ tiêu của Việt Nam với số lượng gần 10.000 tấn/năm và đứng trong tốp 10 nhà xuất khẩu gạo lớn của cả nước. Công ty còn là nhà nhập khẩu thực phẩm đông lạnh hàng đầu Việt Nam, nhà xuất nhập khẩu lớn về thép chuyên dụng… Từ một đơn vị kinh doanh thương mại thuần túy, Intimex Group đã dần hình thành nhiều ngành nghề mới như tham gia sản xuất chế biến nông sản, sản xuất vật liệu xây dựng, tham gia hoạt động mua bán doanh nghiệp, tham gia đấu thầu các dự án xây dựng lớn…
