Mount Fuji Mount Fuji or, (Sino-Vietnamese: Fuji painted, Romaji: "Fujisan" / "Fujiyama") is the highest mountain in Japan and is also well-known symbol of this country. The mountain is often the subject of paintings and artistic photography as well as in literature and music. This is one of the "Three Holy Mountains" of Japan (Sanreizan) along with Mount Tate and Mount Haku, and also a special place of scenic, historical one, and has been recognized as Heritage World culture on June 22, 2013
