Tính từ đầu năm đến hết tháng 8/2013, tổngtrị giá xuất nhập khẩu hànghoá của Việt Nam đạt 170,15 tỷ USD, tăng 14,8% so với cùng kỳ năm trước; trong đó, xuất khẩu đạt 85,16 tỷ USD, tăng 15,1% và nhập khẩu gần 84,99 tỷ USD, tăng 14,4%. Kết quả là cán cân thương mại hàng hoá của Việt Nam tính trong 8 tháng năm 2013 có mức thặngdư trị giá 176 triệu USD. Đối với khối doanh nghiệp có vốn đầu tư trực tiếp nước ngoài (FDI), tổng trị giá hàng hóa xuất nhập khẩu[1] trong8 tháng năm 2013 là 99,55 tỷ USD, tăng 25,5% và chiếm 58,5% tổng kim ngạch xuất nhập khẩu của cả nước; trong đó, xuất khẩu đạt 51,55 tỷ USD, tăng 26,7% và nhập khẩu là gần 48 tỷ USD, tăng24,3% so với kết quả thực hiện của cùng kỳ năm trước. Đối với khối doanh nghiệp trongnước, tổng trị giá hànghóa xuất nhập khẩu trong 8 tháng năm 2013 là 70,6 tỷ USD, tăng 2,4% và chiếm 41,5% tổng kim ngạch xuất nhập khẩu của Việt Nam; trong đó, xuất khẩu đạt hơn 33,6 tỷ USD, chỉ tăng nhẹ 1% và nhập khẩu là 36,99 tỷ USD, tăng 3,7% so với kết quả thực hiện trong 8 tháng năm 2012.
