Renault khánh thành nhà máy đầu tiên tại Trung Quốc

Đây là kết quả của sự hợp tác hãng xe hơi Pháp Renault với tập đoàn ôtô Đông Phong, có trụ sở tại thành phố Vũ Hán. Renault Kadjar – chiếc SUV mới nhất của hãng xe Pháp sẽ là mẫu xe đầu tiên xuất xưởng.

Ngày 16/12/2013, trong tuần lễ kỷ niệm 50 năm thiết lập quan hệ ngoại giao Pháp-Trung, Renault và tập đoàn ôtô Đông Phong đã ký kết hiệp định thành lập liên doanh sản xuất ô tô Đông Phong – Renault DRAC (Dongfeng Renault Automotive Company) với tổng số vốn lên tới 870 triệu Euro, tỷ lệ nội địa hoá trên 80%.

Đây chính là liên doanh đầu tiên có tỷ lệ hợp tác 50:50 và cũng là một trong số rất ít liên doanh dạng này tại thị trường ô tô Trung Quốc. Một hội đồng quản trị ngay lập tức được thành lập với thành phần 20 người, trong đó mỗi bên có 10 người. Ngày 9 tháng 1 năm 2014, lễ động thổ xây dựng nhà máy đã diễn ra với quyết tâm nhanh chóng thi công trong thời gian ngắn nhất.

Sau hơn 2 năm xây dựng, ngày 1/2/2016 nhà máy lắp ráp xe Renault đã chính thức được khánh thành và đưa vào hoạt động. Mẫu xe đầu tiên xuất xưởng sẽ là chiếc SUV cỡ nhỏ có tên Renault Kadjar. Đây cũng là mẫu xe đã từng được Renault giới thiệu tại triển lãm ôtô Quảng Châu vào tháng 11/2015.
